1. The Power of Contrast Therapy: Hot Sauna Meets Cold Plunge

Contrast therapy—the deliberate cycling between intense thermal heat and cold-water immersion—has been celebrated across Nordic and Baltic cultures for centuries. Today, modern sports medicine and longevity research back up what sauna lovers have always felt instinctively:

  1. Cardiovascular Stimulation & Circulation: Moving from 80°C+ heat into cold water causes blood vessels to dilate rapidly then constrict, acting as a natural pump for circulation and vascular health.
  2. Accelerated Muscle Recovery: Cold water reduces post-exercise inflammation, while intense sauna heat stimulates heat shock proteins (HSPs) that help rebuild cellular tissue.
  3. Endorphin & Norepinephrine Rush: The cold plunge triggers a natural release of norepinephrine and dopamine, leaving you energised, alert, and deeply invigorated.
  4. Deep, Restorative Sleep: As your core body temperature cools down after evening contrast cycles, the brain signals melatonin production, resulting in profound, undisturbed sleep.
  5. Mental Clarity & Stress Relief: Stepping away from screens into natural heat and cold grounds your nervous system and delivers complete mental restoration.

2. Inside the Setup: Handcrafted Luxury on Wheels

Our mobile hire setup is built to the exact same artisanal standard as our handcrafted garden saunas:

Handcrafted sauna interior with branded felt hats, towels, bucket, ladle, and fresh eucalyptus sauna whisks on alder benches

  • Spacious 8-Person Barrel: Crafted from premium timber staves with ergonomically contoured Alder benches. There is generous space to stretch out solo or gather with family and friends.
  • Rear Half-Panoramic Window: Take in your garden surroundings, coastal skies, or starry night views while enveloped in rich wood-fired warmth.
  • Handcrafted Cold Plunge Tub: Placed adjacent to the sauna trailer on level ground. Sized for comfortable, full-body immersion to complete your contrast therapy circuit.
  • Authentic Accessories: Every hire includes wooden buckets, ladles, thermometers, and branded wool felt sauna hats to protect your head and regulate heat exposure.
  • Herbal Aromatherapy & Whisks: Enhance your steam (löyly) with soothing essential oils and authentic birch or eucalyptus sauna whisks (venik) for traditional invigorating steam rituals.

3. Wood-Fired Heat: Pure, Atmospheric, and Simple to Run

There is no substitute for the gentle crackle and soft radiance of real timber. Our mobile sauna is powered by a high-efficiency wood-burning stove loaded with dense volcanic sauna stones.

Bundled kiln-dried kindling, natural wood shavings, matches, and seasoned hardwood logs next to the sauna stove

Everything You Need to Fire Up:

  • Initial Wood Supply Included: We provide a generous starter pack of dry, kiln-dried hardwood logs, bundled kindling, natural wood wool firelighters, and matches.
  • Fast Heat-Up Times: Thanks to the natural thermal convection of the curved barrel profile, the sauna heats up smoothly in approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Soft, Plentiful Steam: Pouring fresh water over the heated stones releases thick, gentle steam (löyly) that envelops the room without scorching.
  • Full Demonstration: When our team delivers the trailer, we walk you through the simple lighting process, airflow adjustments, and safety best practices.

5. Site Access & Delivery Checklist

Before booking, ensure your property meets the following simple spatial requirements so our delivery vehicle can position the trailer safely:

  1. Gateway & Driveway Width: A minimum clearance width of 2.5m through any gates, pillars, or narrow lanes.
  2. Trailer Footprint: The trailer measures 5m in length (including hitch and safety steps), 2.3m in width, and 3.5m in height. The ground should be firm and relatively level (gravel, tarmac, concrete, or compacted lawn).
  3. Cold Plunge Placement: Requires a level 1.7m x 1.5m surface next to or near the sauna.
  4. Water Access: Access to a standard outdoor garden tap and hosepipe is required to fill the cold plunge tub upon arrival.

Tip — Unsure About Your Driveway or Lane? Guernsey lanes can be charmingly tight! If you are uncertain whether the trailer will fit through your entrance, contact our team with photos or a video and we will happily perform a remote site assessment.
